The Southern Railway
Historical
Association
holds an annual meeting and convention every year in May. The
convention includes tours of railroad or museum facilities, programs and seminars on
topics relating to the history of the Southern Railway, modeling clinics, model displays,
SRHA's merchandise store - the "Grab", and a banquet. The convention generally
rotates among cities in the Southeast where the Southern Railway operated and maintained
facilities. This annual event is a popular occasion for members to make new acquaintances
and renew old friendships, to learn more about the Southern Railway, and to become more
involved in SRHA. In addition, the Association hosts a more
informal one-day "Gathering" each fall. The Gathering includes programs and
clinics with an emphasis on modeling.
