Norfolk Southern's Atlanta to Birmingham Main DVD

Norfolk Southern's Atlanta to Birmingham Main DVD, Big E Productions DVD covering this former Southern Railway line. 70 Minutes in length

Norfolk Southernís former Southern Railway main line between Atlanta and Birmingham is quite a mountain railroad. Known as the East End District, this busy line crosses a southern extension of the Blue Ridge near the Georgia-Alabama border and a southern extension of the Appalachian Mountains as it approaches Birmingham. A large increase in the number of finished autos has pushed the number of freight trains on this line to perhaps its highest total in the modern era as three automotive assembly plants have opened on Norfolk Southern in the South in recent years. And intermodal traffic is poised for further growth as Union Pacific ramps up its use of Kansas City Southernís Meridian Speedway as a shortcut for intermodal traffic between the West Coast, Texas, and Atlanta. NS Atlanta to Birmingham Main shows over 24 hours of traffic on Norfolk Southernís East End District between Atlanta and Birmingham in the spring of 2008. This DVD is seventy minutes in length.
